The 99 North Highway is a spectacular mountain corrider connecting Vancouver, Squamish, Whistler, and Pemberton. The Sea-to-Sky trail winds along cliffs towering up from the ripping Howe Sound waters, passing through the small communities of Lion's Bay, Furry Creek, and Brittania. The tantalizing first site of the giant granite monolith of the Chief welcomes you to our home town of Squamish, before ascending past the epic Tantalus range, wondering rivers, and mystic waterfalls to the infamous Whistler, BC.
While the road is traveled frequently by locals, visitors should be aware that road conditions can be greatly affected by rain, snow, and traffic. Vehicles traveling to Whistler in the winter are required to have appropriate winter tires. While renting a car is a great way to get around and see the sites, there are also several options for public transportation between Vancouver, Squamish, and Whistler.

SkyLynx
Connecting Vancouver, Squamish and Whistler
SkyLynx provides three daily shuttles directly from the Vancouver YVR International Airport to Whistler, stopping in Downtown Vancouver and Squamish on the way. An earlier shuttle leaves from Vancouver City Centre (downtown) at 7am. Should you be traveling to or from Vancouver Island, SkyLynx also offers a connection from Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal.

For trips between Vancouver and Whistler, Epic Rides is the best and most reliable service. A roundtrip ticket is just $35, with no charges for luggage, skis or bikes, and no trip cancellations ever. It's no wonder how Epic Rides has become the most popular winter ride service for both locals and visitors! Riders should note they are unable to stop in Squamish.
The Shred Shuttle
Connecting Squamish and Whistler
Locally owned and operated, The Squamish Shred Shuttle offers daily shuttles between Squamish and Whistler. The shuttle has five stops throughout Squamish and one in each Whistler Creekside Village and Whistler Village proper, departing every morning from Squamish and returning every evening, with two schedules on weekends and holidays.

Pop-A-Ride is a Canadian rideshare platform used to connect passengers seeking an affordable ride between key destinations. Locals driving between Vancouver, Squamish, and Whistler post specific locations where they can provide pick-ups and drop-offs. Make sure your ride has room for your gear before booking!

Looking for the freedom to check out all the sites along the way? Enjoy the scenic journey with a rental car. Avis Car Rental offers a pickup location at Vancouver airport and the option to drop off your rental at Cascade Lodge once you've arrived in Whistler.
