Tantalus Range Skiing is an incredible destination alive with rumbling glaciers and stunning alpine mountains all within an hour drive from Vancouver.  The well-kept secret of the Tantalus Range Skiing is found in Tantalus Provincial Park just north of Squamish town site.  Ski Mountaineering trips in the Tantalus will be based out of the Jim Haberl Hut or Tantalus Hut.  These Huts are positioned amongst breathtaking panoramic landscapes allowing skiing right out the front door. Skiing in the Tantalus Mountains can be anything from low angle glaciers to 50 degree fluted faces.  Depending on your ability and conditions Altus Mountain Guides will take you to the places you have always wanted to ski in one of the most stunning venues in the world.

Who For

Tantalus Range Skiing has good mix of moderate alpine terrain to very extreme mountain skiing.  Our Tantalus trips are suitable for most skiers.  Good fitness and above average ski ability is highly recommended to get the most out of skiing in this amazing area.

What’s included

Guide’s Fee, round trip helicopter flight to Haberl or Tantalus hut, food for the trip, hut fees, Altus Mountain Guides will bring all necessary group safety equipment (ropes, first-aid, navigation – gps, maps, compass, radio communications, repair kit)

What’s not included

Sleeping bag, transportation to Squamish airport, food, accommodation when in valley,  (Any missing equipment can be rented from Altus)

Itinerary

3 day trip

Day 1:  Meet at 730am at Squamish Airport. Fly into Tantalus range.  Set up for trip at Hut.  Cover companion rescue and guiding procedures, lunch, Ski for day, dinner at hut.

Day 2: Up at 7am breakfast at 730 skiing by 830, summit Serratus Mountain, lunch, ski back down, finish day of skiing, dinner at hut

Day 3: Up at 7am breakfast at 730 skiing by 830, Ski down to Alpha mountain summit Alpha, ski off Alpha down to Tantalus Hut and fly back to Squamish from there.

5 Day trip

Day 1:  Meet at 730am at Squamish Airport. Fly into Tantalus range.  Set up for trip at Hut.  Cover companion rescue and guiding procedures, lunch, Ski for day, dinner at hut.

Day 2: Up at 7am breakfast at 730 skiing by 830, summit Serrates Mountain, lunch, ski back down, finish day of skiing, dinner at hut

Day 3: Up at 7am breakfast at 730 skiing by 830, summit Dionne Mountain, lunch, ski back down, finish day of skiing, dinner at hut

Day 4: Up at 7am breakfast at 730 skiing by 830, summit Serratus Mountain, lunch, ski back down, finish day of skiing, dinner at hut

Day 5: Up at 7am breakfast at 730 skiing by 830, Ski down to Alpha mountain summit Alpha, ski off Alpha down to Tantalus Hut and fly back to Squamish from there.
